Oxbridge Plumbing and Building provide a full power flushing service using specialist equipment. This equipment is used to clean out an existing central heating system to enhance its performance. It saves money in the long term by increasing efficiency and extends the working life of the system.

What is Power Flushing?

Power flushing is the process of connecting a specialised high pressure pump to a central heating system to push water through your existing heating pipes and radiators to clean them out. A special device is also used to vibrate each radiator panel to dislodge sediment.

Why would I need to power flush my central heating?

Over time sludge accumulates in your heating system blocking radiators and the boiler heat exchanger, making your system unresponsive, inefficient thus shortening its operating life and costing you money. This sludge is predominantly rust from the inside of your radiators. Power flushing forces the sludge out of your system restoring its efficiency and lengthening its operating life, saving you money in the long term. We also recommend the installation of a magnetic filter which will remove any rust and prevent it from accumulating in the future. Boiler manufacturers’ instructions and the Building Regulations advise that power flushing is a wise move, particularly with older systems where the radiators have had longer to corrode internally.
